A relaxing day at the Vineyard
Our wonderful team at Ocean View Estates would love to look after you for a day and give you a chance to unwind in our beautiful part of the world.
After a cosy sleep-in take the beautiful scenic drive along the Mt Mee Tourist Drive(Mt Mee Rd) and arrive at Ocean View estates around 10.30am. Start with a perfectly made merlo coffee before introducing yourself to Bronwyn in the cellar door who will take you on a little tour through the winery and share with you some information on our vineyards.
Then you can move with them back to the cellar door and taste our great range of award winning wines(something to suit every palate). From here you will have worked up an appetite to enjoy a sumptuous meal in our gorgeous restaurant overlooking the vineyards and lake.
Then, of course you will have to take a little walk through the vineyards, or around the lake to settle lunch and soak up the atmosphere.
To complete you day a cheese platter, or dessert taken to your favourite spot in the vineyard with a glass of port, or a coffee is a perfect way to prepare you for the drive home.
A perfect picnic at Ocean View Estates
In such a beautiful location you may wish to stay outdoors and soak up the atmosphere. We have a range of options available through both the cellardoor and the restaurant. Bring a blanket, or borrow one of ours and find a great spot in the vines, or on the lawn under the trees. A bottle of our sparkling chardonnay will be a perfect match.
A leisurely day drive
If you are coming from brisbane, why not take the scenic route through Samford Village and stop at the Flying Nun Cafe for a morning coffee. There are some great little gift shops and clothing shops in the village. You won’t want to stay too long as you will not want to miss the Dayboro Antique Store at Samsonvale on the road between Samford and Dayboro-something for eveyone here. If you still have time….Hay cottage displaying a wide range of local crafts is worth a look & the Art Gallery is not to be missed.
By this time you will have worked up an appetite for your gorgeous lunch at Ocean View Estate (make sure you book on the weekends so you don’t mis out). By this stage you will probably want to take a seat and order first, then taste some wines in the cellar door while you are waiting for your first course to arrive. We have some great gift ideas and some things you might want to take home for yourselves in here. Not to mention our beautiful range of relishes, jams and other goodies we make on site available for you to take home.
Once you are well satisfied and spoilt by our fantastic team of staff you must visit the Gerard Poed Gallery just 2km up the road. Spectacular photography from large originals to smaller prints and gift cards. Most often you will find Gerard there himself, always keen to share his passion with visitors to the gallery. A great way to comlete a great day…..
